The following therapy, counseling  and consultation services are provided by Brian J. Hubbard, LICSW through www.EmpowermentTherapy.com (it is suggested that you review the differences/similarities between therapy and counseling in the FAQs section)

E-Mail therapy/counseling

E-mail therapy/counseling through an exchange of typed e-mail messages and completed questionnaires costs $20 for each 15 minutes that I spend reading and composing replies to your questions, problems, and/or issues. It is the same rate whether counseling is provided through an exchange of e-mails or through the completion of questionnaires followed by written assessments which will also be conducted via e-mails. Please carefully review the Client Agreement in the Resources and Questionnaire section. If you have preliminary questions, I will answer e-mails briefly at no charge to determine if Empowerment Therapy will be, in my opinion, suitable for you. Whether counseling is conducted via e-mail exchanges or the completion of the Questionnaires provided in the Resources and Questionnaire section, counseling will only begin after you have paid for such counseling services through PayPal. In other words, I may respond to a brief question at no charge if you are unsure if you are at the right place, but no counseling and/or therapy will be provided in the form of support, suggestion, advice, expansion of options and/or any other positive encouragement until you have paid for such services first.

After payment has been received, I will send you a detailed reply to the questions or problems you presented whether in e-mail format or the completed Questionnaire. PLEASE NOTE, VERY IMPORTANT- It is important to note that there are two Questionnaires, should you select such Questionnaire. The initial Questionnaire appears in the Resources and Questionnaire section for your review, but you will not be able to submit until after payment is received from PayPal. The cost for reading, evaluating and providing a detailed response to this initial Questionnaire is $60 as it will require a minimum of 45 minutes of my time. The specialized Empowerment Therapy questionnaire, designed for those dealing with major adjustment issues and/or traumatic losses, will be supplied upon request and will cost $120 for review, evaluation and written assessment specifically designed for this ET Questionnaire. The reason that this initial Questionnaire and ET Questionnaire is cost-effective is that progress can be easily obtained only after one session which constitutes the completion of these questionnaires. The ET Questionnaire cannot be completed unless the initial Questionnaire is completed first. You may wish to have a few follow-up sessions for support and further professional guidance, but these can be accomplished with brief e-mails requiring no more than 15 minutes per e-mail (or $20) This is the hallmark of ET, it is to be brief and ‘cut to the core’, focusing on solutions and immediate constructive strategies. While there is never a magic wand to wave, ET was designed to reach the broadest population. Also, from time to time, discounts will be offered to specific groups, and if you request such a discount, please request one by e-mail and this will be considered, depending on circumstances and time available.

I typically respond to emails within 12-24 hours of my receipt of it.

The exception to this is if you elect to be provided with Empowerment Therapy (for those dealing with physical disabilities, chronic illnesses and/or other traumatic losses as reported in the original questionnaire. In this case, I will send a more detailed questionnaire that will facilitate the application of Empowerment Therapy (please read the section ‘About Empowerment Therapy’ as well as about Empowerment Therapy in the FAQs section; also read the ‘cost-effectiveness of ET in the FAQ section). Please note that the more detail you provide me, the more you will benefit from online counseling.

Telephone Therapy/Counseling

If you prefer, I also provide traditional telephone therapy/counseling. If you would like to set up a telephone consultation, you will need to pay for both the long-distance telephone call, as well as my session fee, since I do not have a toll-free number. The session fee, as above, is $20.00 for fifteen minutes.

To schedule a session with me, please review my Client Agreement and send me an e-mail requesting such telephone counseling. Once I have received your e-mail, I will review it and contact you by reply email, typically within a 24 to 48 hour timeframe. I will let you know if I think I can help you and recommend the amount of time necessary for the initial consultation. If this is satisfactory to you, you will need to pay by clicking on the PayPal link below. After that, please send me a short note, listing 2-3 days and times that we can speak. I'll check my calendar for a mutually convenient time and email you back with the best day and time, along with a telephone number. You then call me on that day and time. Daytime hours between the hours of 10:AM to 3:00 PM are best (seven days a week) are best.

However, no time can be guaranteed, that is why it is necessary to initially send three day and time options. It is very important that you call on time calls made ten to fifteen minutes late will be treated as a ‘no-show’ and have to be rescheduled.

Mail Correspondence

We can work together by regular letter if you desire. You write out what you wish to talk about and then send the letter to me via the Post Office. After I receive the letter, I will prepare a reply to your questions, concerns, or problems. (NOTE: the letter must be typed in either 10 or 12 pt. type, otherwise, my adaptive screen reader will be unable to read it.) There are two ways you can pay me. (Again, the fee is $20 per 15 minutes of service) You can pay in advance by using the options listed at the bottom of this page or you can send a check or money order along with your letter.

Professional Consultation (please read the section on ‘Professional Consultation’) Professional Consultation can be provided either by e-mail or telephone. The fee for professional consultation is $25.00 per fifteen minutes. Also home study workshops offering CEUs via , on-line workshop or regular mailing of courses/responses that either can be typed, audio-taped and/or conducted by CD are available. The workshop titles are Empowering the Physically Disabled, Empowering the Chronically Ill and Empowerment Therapy (for clients with Physical Disabilities, Chronic Illnesses and Traumatic Losses/Major Adjustments).

The cost for a three hour, 3-CEU workshop is $85, while a six hour, 6 CEU workshop is $170.

 

Fees

My standard Online rate is $20.00 (US) for each 15 minutes of time that I spend reading your emails, composing replies, speaking to you on the telephone,or communicating with you via any other means(e.g. snail mail, Instant Messaging when available, video conferencing when available.

As I mentioned earlier, if I only spend 15 minutes working with you or composing a reply to you, I will only charge you $20.00 for any sort of reply.

For payment, I use a third-party company, which is known as PayPal. They are nationally recognized, with a secure server. This makes your Internet business transactions as safe as presently possible. You can follow the icons below to the PayPal website and select the amount of time you desire.

After arriving at the PayPal site, you will notice that the address at the top of your browser should have an "s" at the end of the http. The "s" signifies a secure link. Additionally, you will see a lock on the bottom of your web browser. This shows you that their server is, in fact, secure.
